Forest Floor - April 21
This 5×7” collage was created using my hand-dyed papers, scrim and silk stripping; gel prints; a scrap of my tree-ring woodcut; hand stitching; and lastly, machine embroidery. It comes with a chunky black frame that can easily be hung or placed on a shelf or table.
This collage reminds me of those years where the religious holidays are later in the spring, when you’re more likely to have a gorgeous celebration day instead of snow (which is highly likely here in Wisconsin!). This is one of those days where popular wooded areas are PACKED with hikers and walkers, happily out in nature, for one of those awesome 72º early spring days.
