Forest Floor - June 12
This 9×9” piece was created entirely from my hand-dyed silk stripping, which was pulled apart, re-assembled, and recreated in the color scheme shown here (there are 5 separate dye lots that were blended for this artwork). It comes with a chunky black frame that can easily be hung or placed on a shelf. The piece itself is 5×5”, but matted and framed to 9×9”.
Lately I’ve been having fun working solely with silk stripping for these works on paper! It’s been really fun to take these individual strands of silk, lay them just so, and blend them with other colors to form a unique piece. It reminds me of those areas of tree bark where it’s just laden with thin layers of moss!
